Dr. Russell Daniel recently hosted a seminar on spinal stimulation at our Evans, Georgia, clinical office, inviting attendees from around the nearby area to come and sit for an informational and informal discussion on the history of spinal stimulation, its effective use in treating a variety of chronic pain conditions, and answering specific questions as they relate to unique medical needs.

With partnership from Nevro, attendees had the opportunity to learn about the placement of spinal cord stimulator devices, recovery timelines (often only a few days), and how the process is broken out into two stages: a trial phase with an exterior battery, and then a permanent implant where the battery and device nodes sit under the skin. They then also learned about how the high frequency signals interrupt pain signals thereby reducing the feelings of pain. And that control is as simple as adjusting settings from an app on ones phone.

Dr. Hemant Yagnick, Medical Director of Advanced Pain Management, was also in attendance and answered attendee questions alongside Dr. Daniel. Both are excited to host similar seminars in the future for area residents to learn more about interventional procedures that can reduce chronic pain.
